Day 2: Salta – Cafayate – Where the earth meets wine
The journey continues to Cafayate, in the heart of the Calchaquí Valleys, where tobacco fields and colonial towns greet you. As you travel through the Quebrada del Río Las Conchas, you’ll be amazed by rock formations shaped over millions of years. El Sapo, El Obispo and La Garganta del Diablo will mark your route through this striking landscape. Once in Cafayate, you’ll taste the renowned Torrontés grape, nurtured by this unique climate. A visit to a local winery will let you savor the wine that put this region on the map. On the way back, the golden afternoon light transforms the gorge into a living canvas of changing hues.

Day 3: Salta – San Antonio de los Cobres – Salinas Grandes – Purmamarca (Jujuy)
Begin your day with a journey through the dramatic Quebrada del Toro, where landscapes shift as you ascend toward San Antonio de los Cobres. A short break allows you to enjoy this quiet mountain town before continuing to the vast Salinas Grandes, a dazzling salt desert that stretches to the horizon. The winding Cuesta de Lipán takes you high into the mountains—where, if you’re lucky, you might spot condors gliding above. Stop at La Posta de Hornillos and feel the weight of history around you. In Huacalera, you’ll cross the Tropic of Capricorn and head to the Church of Uquía, known for its painted angels. In Humahuaca, you’ll discover the Monument to Independence with its towering figure of El Indio and climb to the Cerro de Santa Bárbara for panoramic views of the Serranías del Hornocal.
